FAQs
Question - Does GreatWork! Employment Services charge employees a fee to
candidates looking for work?
Answer - Great Work! does not charge a fee for its services. In
addition, we do not charge candidates for drug tests (unless a candidate
believes a positive test is in error), pre-employment physicals or
criminal background checks.
Question - How long is the average assignment?
Answer - While specific jobs may last from a few hours to several years,
the average tenure of temporary and contract employees range from three
to five months prior to being hired as a staff employee of our client.
The field employee's ability to do the job, attitude, reliability and
the companies needs do impact the length of an assignment. We can never
guarantee employment or the length of an assignment.
Question - I already applied, why haven't you given me an assignment?
Answer - Unfortunately, we can never guarantee an assignment. Work
History, Job Skillset, Interviewing Skills, Reliability etc are all an
important part of our evaluation for each of our clients. We can only
send applicants that demonstrate a true desire to work full time and can
fulfill the clients production demands..
Question - How many staffing companies are there in the United States?
Answer - There are about 7000 firms that have been in business a year or
more. Great Work! is proud to be in business since 1992.
Question - How much has the staffing industry grown?
Answer - Average daily employment for temporary help services has
increased at an average rate of 10 percent per year over the past seven
years.
Question - I sent my information over via the web site, do I still have
to come in and apply?
Answer - Yes! Unfortunately, the information submitted only allows us
to evaluate your skill set for current jobs. It does not mean you are
active in our database. We must have a completed application and in
person interview before you are considered Active and eligible for
consideration of our assignments.
Question - Do I have to apply at all locations?
Answer - No. All of our offices work out of the same database. Once you
have applied and interviewed and are activated all offices will see your
information when running a skills search. Please make sure you let our
staff know if they call you for an opening and it is too far for you.
Question - If I turn down an assignment will you deactivate me?
Answer - No. We welcome open and honest responses to our assignment
offers. We prefer you refuse an assignment when offered versus accept
and then not show up ( we will deactivate you for the latter). We will
keep you active in our database for 6 months unless you are terminated
for violating a policy, you request we deactivate you, you do not call
in after a completed assignment or you are working on an assignment for
us.
Question - Temp agencies only have the bad jobs no one wants. Why would
I ever work for you?
Answer - Unfortunately, we have had this response at times when people
call us off our ads. There was a day and age when temporary services
really treated their employees poorly with bad pay, bad attitudes and
dangerous clients. In reality, there are still some bad services out
there. But if you do your research, you will find many companies hire
SOLELY through a staffing company. You may be missing out on bona fide
career opportunity if you discount ALL staffing companies. The clients
we service are established and desirable local firms that are really
looking to add quality people to their workforce. We encourage you to
apply at any of our locations and compare our office with that of our
competitors. We know you will feel a difference if you experience Great
Work!.
